Daisy Donates

Truly successful people give of their time, talents and themselves to help others in need, build better communities and give self-less service. An important part of Daisy Craft is the philanthropic out-reach to those we desire to help locally, national or internationally.

Daisy Craft Monthly Community Service Event~

June/July: Adopt-A-School

During this month, it would be great for us to adopt-a-school. Students are out of school and there is a lot of preparation and cleaning, repainting and so forth that needs to be done. Everyone is experiencing budget-crunches... what better way to give back to your community than giving back to its future--- the children.

We have come up with a fun, easy way to give back. You can choose from a few different ways to give back- or be even more creative and make your own twist to a service opportunity.

How you can give back:

Contact your local school district offices and find out where you or a group can help make a difference. Perhaps you'll be able to do some painting... you might be able to add a mural if you're artistically inclined. You might find that the kindergarten rooms need a new quilt or blanket and so forth. It'll be fun to get into the community schools and help prepare them for the new school year. Better yet, your materials would be covered from the school district, all you'd have to donate is your time and talents!

Be sure to check here for the monthly Daisy Craft community service project. We will announce ideas that the World Wide Daisy Craft community can participate in--regardless of your location. We look forward to hearing about your experiences in the Community Forum.

Comfort Dolls~ Created for Abused Women
Imagine a woman being handed a beautiful handmade doll with a message of hope attached. This doll ,from a stranger whom she will never meet, yet makes this connection of love and caring from one heart to another. A stranger who can imagine, if not know firsthand where she has been and hoping she will have brighter days ahead. The woman carries this doll in her purse, pocket, or perhaps pinned to her lapel, knowing someone cared enough to think of her. When she needs strength, she strokes it or admires it and her lips turn up with a smile and her heart warms. Yes, I am a dreamer but I do think this will happen. Actually I KNOW this will happen. Won't you join me?

Washington County Children's Justice Center

The Children’s Justice Center is a homelike facility which serves children and families who are experiencing the crisis and chaos that comes with the disclosure of significant physical or sexual abuse of a child. The Center is designed to help children feel safe and comfortable so that they may begin to deal with the difficult and often frightening issues that surround abuse.

Traditionally, Investigation of child abuse required multiple interviews of the child victim by the police, social services, medical personnel, psychologists and attorneys. Each interview occurred at a different place and rarely in a setting that was familiar or comfortable for the child. The Children’s Justice Center is place for the child with a homelike environment, where the necessary interviews can occur in an atmosphere that is non-threatening to the child.

The goal is to produce a comprehensive response in exploring allegations, to provide recommendations to parents regarding the safety or treatment needs of the child, and to stabilize the crisis often experienced by the family.

The Washington County Children's Justice Center staff is available to answer questions regarding alleged abuse, the legal system, and prevention information.

If you wish to make a difference for abused children in the Washington County, UT community, please send your tax deductible contribution to the center by clicking on the Donation button below.

Help Baby Mia

Supplies Needed!

One Heart Bulgaria helps over a thousand orphans in sixteen different orphanages. Each orphanage constantly has many requests for important supplies that can be purchased at very inexpensive prices right in Bulgaria. Due to the high cost of shipping, including heavy taxes and customs’ fees applied in Bulgaria, we have decided it is much more effective to purchase these items from factories right in Bulgaria. Items are then quickly and easily delivered to the orphanages through our field director. This has the added benefit of helping support the Bulgarian economy as well. We hope you find this method of donating just as satisfying, yet easier and cheaper, than purchasing and sending the items yourself.

For group fundraising opportunities to raise the donations for these much-needed items, please click here or contact us at oneheart@oneheart-bg.org .
